A Prayer for June 22, 2025

LIke you, I awoke to news this morning that the United States had bombed sites in Iran. Like you, I do not understand all of the facts President Trump considered before ordering that strike, And, as I suspect may also be true for you, I am feeling unsettled. Thus, I deviate from the normal pattern of my blog by sharing this prayer.

O God of every nation and era, you alone know fully the nature of human beings. You alone see the intention of every heart. You alone understand all that has led to this troubling moment and the best way forward. Thus, I pray for your Spirit to bring calm to the people of this troubled world and clarity to our President and the leaders of Iran. Reveal to them the path you desire for the days ahead and the courage to follow it. In the name of the Prince of Peace, Amen.

    Thank you John for your calming words. To be honest, my morning was spent calming my anxieties, stopping my mind with, ‘what ifs’. I’m not calmed by continuing news reports/commentaries. I’m relying on my trust in God to protect my children, grandchildren and all those I love.
